THE Cure For The Common Cold For me, this works wonders. When I have trouble shaking a cold, I kill it off with a shot of whisky and hard running while smoking a cigar. Running in a cold, driving rain is even better. You may laugh, but the fact remains that the combination of alcohol, tobacco, elevated heart rate and increased core temperature convinces the cold it will die before I will, and victory is mine. |

This video clip, originally posted without the commercial tag at the end, caused a huge debate about marine mammal encounters, rolling technique and the validity of the clip itself. The clip shows a huge orca leaping into a group of kayakers causing one of the kayakers to go under. The kayaker, showing incredible tenacity and composure, surfaces and executes a nice eskimo roll. Just another day here in the Pacific Northwest! | |

Boeing 747 and 777 Crosswind Landings. To a private pilot, this is some astounding footage of crosswind landings made in Boeing 747 and 777 commercial airliners. The video clips are imbedded in a promotional video for a Brazilian flight school. At one point it looks like the 777 can pivot the landing gear to compensate for the crosswind landing but I have not been able to verify that. Float plane training was pretty cool, but a flight school like this would have been great fun. |
